Jamii

Privacy policy

Last updated October 21, 2026

This is an English translation of the Danish privacy policy. If the two differ, the Danish version applies.

In short

1. Who is responsible?

Jamii is developed and run by Jamii Nabolag ApS - part of Well Curated Wellness ApS, CVR no. 41952474 - which is the data controller for the processing of your information. If you have questions about this policy or about your information, you can always write to support@jamii.dk.

2. What information do we process?

Without an account

You can browse Jamii without signing up. When the app fetches happenings, it only sends the visible part of the map (a geographic area) to our server - not your own position. Our systems also briefly record ordinary technical server logs (such as IP addresses) for operational and security reasons.

Your location

If you give the app access to your location, it is used on your phone: to center the map and show distances like "650 m away". On iPhone the app uses an accuracy of about 100 meters, on Android the accuracy you give it (precise or approximate). Your position is not sent to our servers and is not stored - with one exception: if you are outside the areas Jamii covers and tap "I want Jamii here", the app sends your position rounded to about 1 km (see "Requests for new areas" below). You can turn off access at any time in your phone's settings.

Map, place names and directions

The map, the place names and the travel times come from map services outside Jamii. They get what they need to answer, but not who you are:

If you tap "Directions", we open Apple Maps (iPhone) or Google Maps (Android) with the happening's place. From there, their privacy policy applies.

With an account (Apple, Google or email)

If you want to create happenings yourself, you sign in with Apple, with Google or with your email address. Which of them you can choose depends on whether you use an iPhone, Android or the website. Signing in with Apple and Google happens with them, on their own terms.

A profile is created, and your happenings are linked to it. If you sign in a new way with an email address you have used before, you get into the same account.

Content you share

Happenings you create - title, description, time, place and any photos - are public content that other users can see. The place of a happening is part of the happening itself (the place you choose), not your personal location.

Emails about your happenings

When you put a happening on Jamii, we write to your account's email address about that particular happening: that we have received it, that it is on the map, or that it was not approved, and why. These are messages about your own case, not newsletters, and we don't use the address for anything else. So we can answer "did I get an email about it?", we keep a log of which emails we have sent about which happening for 90 days.

Reports about happenings

If you see a mistake in a happening, you can send us a report ("Report a problem"). The report contains the reason, your message if you write one and the app's version number. Reports can be sent completely anonymously; if you choose to include your email address in the report, we only use it to follow up on that particular report, and it is deleted when the case is closed. If you are signed in when you report, the report is linked to your account, so we can prevent abuse of the report feature.

Anonymous usage statistics

To understand what gets used and make Jamii better, we count a few events in the app - for example that a happening was opened or saved, or that a search was made. On jamii.dk we count in the same way when a happening that someone has shared is opened on the site. The counts are anonymous: they contain neither your name, your user ID, your device ID, your IP address nor your location, and they cannot be traced back to you. The website uses no cookies for this and stores nothing on your device. You can turn it off at any time in the app under Profile ▸ Share anonymous statistics, and on jamii.dk we don't count if your browser asks not to be tracked (Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track).

Requests for new areas, and a note when we open

If you are somewhere Jamii isn't yet, you can say that you want Jamii there. The request is stored anonymously: the place (the center of the map, the pin on My Jamii or your own position rounded to about 1 km), the place name and the app's version number - never who you are. We use it to choose where Jamii opens next.

If you want to hear when we open, you enter your email address. If you are signed in, your account's address is already filled in, but you can enter another one. We store the address, the place, when you asked and the text you agreed to - and, if you were signed in, a link to your account, so the address is deleted if you delete the account. We write once, when Jamii opens there, and then delete the address. If we haven't opened within two years, we delete it anyway. If you want it deleted sooner, write to support@jamii.dk.

A note when Jamii comes to Android

If you are waiting for Jamii for Android, you can enter your email address under "Google Play - coming soon" on the front page or at jamiiapp.com/android (in Danish at jamii.dk/android). We store the address, when you asked and the text you agreed to - nothing else. We write once, when the app is on Google Play, and then delete the address. If the app hasn't arrived within two years, we delete it anyway. If you want it deleted sooner, write to support@jamii.dk.

3. Purpose and legal basis

We process the information to be able to provide Jamii: show happenings on the map, let you create content, send you sign-in codes, sign-in links and emails about your happenings, and run the service securely (Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation). Access to your location only happens with your consent through your phone's permission on iPhone or Android, which you can freely withdraw (Article 6(1)(a)). We process the anonymous usage statistics on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving Jamii (Article 6(1)(f)) - and you can always turn it off in the app, just as we don't count on jamii.dk when your browser asks not to be tracked. We process requests for new areas on the basis of our legitimate interest in choosing where Jamii opens (Article 6(1)(f)). We only use your email address for a note when we open a new area or come to Android with your consent (Article 6(1)(a), and section 10 of the Danish Marketing Practices Act), and you can withdraw it by writing to support@jamii.dk.

4. Where is your data stored?

Data is stored with our data processor Supabase on servers in the EU (Stockholm, Sweden). Photos are stored in the same region. We have a data processing agreement with Supabase.

Sign-in codes, sign-in links and emails about your happenings are sent through our data processor Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., USA) from servers in the EU (Ireland). Resend receives your email address and the content of the email in order to deliver it. We have a data processing agreement with Resend, and any transfer to the USA takes place on the basis of the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

5. Do we share your information?

We never sell your information and don't share it with third parties for marketing. The app contains no ads and no third-party analytics or tracking tools; the anonymous usage statistics mentioned above are our own and are not shared with third parties. To run the service, we use a few data processors: Supabase (database and sign-in), Resend (emails) and Netlify (the website). They may only use the information to provide their service to us. Public happenings and the name they were created under are visible to other users.

If you sign in with Apple or Google, we get the information from them listed under "With an account" above. To draw the map and find place names and travel times, the app sends the map's area or your position to Apple, OpenFreeMap or Google, as described under "Map, place names and directions" - never who you are.

6. How long do we keep your data?

Your profile and your happenings are kept as long as you have an account. You can edit or delete your own happenings at any time on My Jamii. The log of emails about your happenings is deleted after 90 days. Reports about happenings are kept while they are being handled; a contact email in a report is deleted when the case is closed. Requests for new areas are anonymous. An email address for a note when we open a new area or come to Android is deleted once we have written, and no later than two years after you asked. If you want your account and all associated data deleted, you can do it yourself in the app under Profile ▸ Delete account - your happenings and photos are deleted with it. You are also welcome to write to support@jamii.dk, and we will delete them without undue delay.

7. Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access the information we process about you, as well as the right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Write to support@jamii.dk if you want to use your rights. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet).

8. This website

jamii.dk and its English version at jamiiapp.com use no cookies and no tracking. The site is hosted by Netlify, whose servers may briefly log IP addresses for security reasons.

9. Changes

If we update this policy, we publish the new version here with a new date.
